First appointment:
This is very important and usually involves an assessment, photos, impressions of the teeth and x-rays. It usually takes 30-45 minutes and afterwards we will discuss the main issues, costs and the treatment options.
Treatment:
This will usually involve fixed appliances or traintracks and sometimes extractions. Alternative options include ceramic appliances that look better then metal appliances and invisible aligners by Clear Step that are practically invisible and suitable for more minor problems. Treatment time can be as short as 6 months but to get an ideal outcome usually takes 18-24 months depending on the severity of the problem.

We all know that straight teeth look great! Orthodontic treatment uses braces to straigthen the teeth. There are many different kinds of braces or orthodontic appliances and the kind of brace that is most suitable depends on the problem that you have with your teeth. Remember that everyone is different and every mouth is too!! This is why every patient must have an individual treatment plan made. Orthodontic treatment can improve the occlusion or how the teeth bite together. For severe problems orthodontic treatment can be combined with jaw surgery.
Hygiene: It is essential that hygiene is maintained throughout treatment. Failure to do this will result in unsightly, permanent marking of the teeth, decay and gum disease. If hygiene is not maintained then appliances may have to be removed and treatment stopped altogether.
